Tara Stiles sent around a newsletter today with some pretty helpful travel tips. Since I am about to go back home to the US, I thought I’d share the ones I will make the most use of.
Bedtime Meditation: Relaxing after a long day can be hard, especially if loads of travel has been included. I plan to take at least 10 minutes before bed to get comfy and prop my legs up the wall-this will help to calm my mind and body AND get ready for the best nights sleep.
Drink water: Do this ALL the time. I even bring on my own water bottle and have it filled so I don’t have to keep going back to get more drinks.
Get comfy: Buying a neck pillow for this trip-let’s see how that works! Will report back after the flight.
Travel light: More bags to carry = more stress and strain. My suitcases are always nearly empty when I go home. When I come back, not so much.
Rest Up: Getting a good night’s sleep before is crucial. Why start out the trip already tired? I always do some yoga, take a hot bath, and just get into bed by 10:30pm and make sure light’s are out no later than 11pm. (Ha, those of you who know me know my lights are out by 10pm maximum!)
Pack snacks: I don’t just bring snacks for Q, I bring my own as well. Nothing worse than being stuck on a plane without your special meal (yes, that has happened many times) and you end up starving. Carrots, apples, nuts, dark chocolate-all great options.
