Have you ever gotten to Tuesday and thrown your hands up, shaking your head, wondering how the week got so topsy turvy? And we are only 2 days in, really. Yup, we’ve all had them. And how blindsided they can make us feel. Especially when juggling housework, kid’s activities, work commitments, social engagements.
Ahh, I remember those days well, and I still have them, don’t get me wrong! However, I have started working with a few ways to assess my energy, my goals, and my commitments on a weekly basis to make sure I am focusing on the important activities that will move me towards my priorities, keeping my energy high and my vibration rocking! I typically make myself a nice cup of coffee or Kakao and sit down with my laptop and diary to plan out my week. In it, the activities that have to happen are written down, you know the ones, that happen weekly. Then I put in my self-care because it is SO important. And then I pop in my work commitments around marketing, blogging, and jumping on Deep Dive Clarity Bombs (click the link if you want to jump on one!). Then I pop in the stuff that needs to be done but that I don’t like, ie, grocery shopping! And I schedule something super fun after that. And presto! I’ve set myself up for success and fun, all in one fell swoop. Wanna do this yourself?! Follow my instructions below:
- Decide on your top 5 Priorities (please include yourself as one of these!)
- Then sit down with your diary and weekly commitments and rate them from 1-5 (1 giving you NO energy and make you feel bleurgh, 5 giving you hella energy and you love life!) Now, of those activities that rated 1-can you get rid of them? If not, how can you make them more enjoyable OR schedule something fun for after 🙂 Those activities that you can get rid of, do!
- What to do when you are asked to do something new? Well, I simply pause and really feel into what it is that is being asked and ask myself if it moves me towards my priorities and goals or not. If it doesn’t, I say no. Simple.
Remember, the more you practice saying no, the easier it becomes AND people respect when you create boundaries and stick to them. No one likes being around a stress head because they can’t say no. Now go set yourself up for success and do a happy dance!
